The elephant is the largest, as well as strongest, of all animals. It lives on grass, leaves and roots. It is a strange-looking animal. Its peculiar feature is the trunk, which it puts to various uses. It draws up water by its trunk and squirts it all over its body. It can carry huge loads. It can pile timber. In Africa elephants are hunted mainly for their tusks, with yield ivory and are of great value.
