MY LIVING ROOM
MY
LIVING ROOM
There
are four pictures on the walls and a mirror. There is a stereo on the cupboard.
There are some books on the shelves. There’s a lovely cupboard and the cat is
in front of the cupboard. There’s a lamp near the window, and a clock on the
wall near the mirror. There’s a photo on the television and there are some
newspapers and magazines on the floor under the coffee table. There is a sofa
and some plants behind it. There is a glass of beer on the table in front of
the man. The television isn’t on. There is a telephone on the small table next
to the sofa. She eared US$120 a year. In nineteen ninety-nine she moved to
another family. She likes her new job because she looked after the children.
There were five children, four sons and one daughter. She loved them,
especially the baby, Rachana. She stayed with that family for twenty years. Mum
never married. She just looked after other people’s children until she retired
when she was seventy years old.
