THE INFLUENZA AH5N1

Both people and birds in Cambodia are facing to have health problems. Recently some people and a lot birds have been threatened by influenza A, H5N1.

Influenza A, H5N1 is an infectious disease which has been discovered with pet birds. Wild birds with virus H5N1 can spread this virus to the other birds in far places. Pet birds, including hens, cocks, ducks, geese and local birds can be inflected by wild birds, leaving their excrement containing this virus which spreads to pet birds. As a result, a large number of pet birds die in a short time. This disease can be recognize by observing our pet birds with some symptoms. The birds with H5N1 are sleepy and do not eat food. There are red spots of blood on their skins and heads. Moreover, they twist their bodies to die in a big number. Furthermore, this disease can spread to people who touch sick and dead birds without wearing masks and gloves. This disease can kill people, too.

As we know H5N1 can kill both birds and people, so we must be careful with our birds.
