THE DANGER OF DRUG ADDICTION

Addiction to drugs is a very real problem in modern society. There are many drug addicts in our country and other parts of the world. These addicts are a burden to others. Not only do they not look after themselves, they are a great nuisance to others.

A young person may be first introduced to drugs by friends or other people. Usually it starts off as curiosity or being “one of the gang”. Later on the person becomes dependent on the drugs. He is “hooked” or addicted. He is then unable to live normally without the drugs, for his body will crave for it strongly thus causing him great pain. So he seeks more drugs to satisfy the craving.

Drugs are not free. An addict may resort to stealing, cheating to any other means to get money in order to get the drugs. His health suffers, he cannot work but yet he needs money to support his habit. He drops into living hell. His agony is intense.

It is important thus not to get involved with drugs in any way. Never even try any drug even if the temptation is great. Just say no and walk away. Walk away from his hell.
