IMPORTANCE OF PALM TREES

Palm trees have been grown in Cambodia for many years. They are long life trees which have been found most in Takeo, Kandal and Kampong Speu Province. There are several advantages of palm trees.

One advantage is that their leaves and branches are used to mate roofs and other materials for using in homes, so some farmers do not have to spend much money on building. Moreover, their leaves’ and branches are not only used to make roofs but also for firewood. Their trunks are used some parts of the buildings and furniture with high quality. For the most important point, each palm tree can give hundreds of liters of palm juice to make palm sugar which is delicious and have no chemical substance. Palm wine is also used for drink instead of wine or beer.

In my conclusion I think that every part of palm trees is useful for Cambodia people, so we have to prevent and plant more.
