A VISIT TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM IN LONDON
A VISIT TO THE NATIONAL MUSEUM IN LONDON
Until
last year when I visited the museum for the first time I did not know what a
museum contained. In all civilized countries there are museums. In London alone
there are more that thirty-two museums. Of these the most famous one is the British
museum.
The
National Museum stands in Stanford Road, beside the National Library in a
spacious building. Formerly the museum was known as “Stamford Museum” named
after the founder Singapore.
This
being my first visit at the museum, it was indeed a thrill for me. When I was
there, my mind flew back to the past centuries.
In
the museum, I found rare coins, copper and brass-wares of fourteen and fifteen
century Malaya. I was also much attracted by exhibits from various parts of the
world. Indeed, as a Singaporean, I feel proud of our museum.
